Migrate from Escape Room Master
Convert saved ERM pages into an ARC starter game, organize imported hints, and review custom buttons and media.
Published Oct 21, 2026
The Escape Room Master migration tool in the ARC Portal creates an ARC starter game from saved ERM pages. It brings over text and available image hints, plus supported custom-button actions. You will still need to organize the game, configure hardware, and test its behavior.
Keep your original ERM setup while you prepare the ARC version.
Save the ERM pages
- Open the room’s Game Master page in Escape Room Master.
- In your browser, choose Save Page As and select Webpage, Complete. Keep both the
.htmlfile and its matching_filesfolder. - If you use automations, save the room’s automations page the same way.
- Put the saved HTML files and their matching folders into one
.zip. Keep the folder structure intact so the converter can find hint images.
Convert and import
- Open the ERM migration tool in the Portal on a desktop browser and select the ZIP. The converter processes the archive in your browser.
- Check the source game, game ID, summary, and warnings. Choose whether to include the detected automations.
- Select Build ARC archive, then download the
.arcfile and migration report. - In ARC, open Games → Import game and select the generated
.arcfile.
If the game ID already exists, review the import dialog before replacing anything. Keep a backup of an existing ARC game you intend to replace.
Finish the setup
- Organize hints. Imported text and available image hints arrive in one objective named Imported ERM Hints. Move them into the objectives that match your puzzles and check their order.
- Add missing media. Audio and video clue buttons do not become playable media automatically. Add their files and playback behavior in ARC. Missing hint images are listed in the report.
- Review custom buttons. Supported actions include HTTP GET/POST requests and text messages. Check each request’s URL and method. POST request bodies are omitted, and unsupported actions such as Play Alert are not converted. A button may therefore contain only part of its original behavior; resolve the report items before using it.
- Configure the room. Requests that trigger props remain web-request actions, not ARC devices. Set up the room’s devices, displays, lighting, audio, and timer behavior in ARC. Review any automatic triggers separately; imported custom buttons are not a reconstruction of every ERM automation.
The report records conversion limits and missing content. Keep it available while you work through the game editor.
Test before switching
Check that every hint is present and readable, media plays on the intended output, and each custom button performs the complete action you expect. Run the full game and reset with your staff before moving live operation to ARC.
If something is missing or behaves differently, contact support with the migration report and the behavior you are trying to recreate.
