Open System → Overview and select the Backup health check to open the Backups drawer. It shows the last successful backup, destination and schedule settings, and current backup activity. The Restore from a backup action opens a separate Restore drawer.

Choose a destination

  • Local folder saves an archive to a folder on the ARC computer. This works without the Backup add-on.
  • Backup stores the archive in the cloud and requires the Backup add-on. If it is unavailable on this system, the option is disabled; local backup and restore remain available.

Choose a folder that your backup process can access. Keep local copies somewhere that can be recovered if the ARC computer fails, such as another disk or a network share.

Create a backup

  1. Open System → Overview and select the Backup health check to open Backups.
  2. Choose Local folder or Backup as the destination.
  3. In Included data, core recovery data is always included. Enable any optional shared and game media, speech assets, or chat data you want in the archive.
  4. Select Back up now and wait for the activity to finish. Review the last-backup time afterward.

Core recovery data is always included. Optional selections add shared and game speech assets, shared and game media, and chat channels, settings, and history. A backup continues inside ARC if you close or refresh the browser tab.

Schedule backups

Turn on Automatic backups, choose Weekly, Every 2 weeks, or Monthly, then set the time and the relevant weekday or day of the month. Turn automatic backups off to pause them; ARC keeps the schedule you configured, and you can still use Back up now manually.

Check the displayed Next backup time after saving. Keep a recent backup before making substantial changes or restoring data.

Restore an archive

Select Restore from a backup at the bottom of the Backups drawer. In the separate Restore drawer, choose a local .arcbak file or select a cloud archive from Backup and preview it. Review the archive source, creation time, file count, size, included content, and any warnings before applying it. A restore replaces the backed-up recovery data on this system.

  1. Select Choose local archive or choose an archive from Backup and select Preview Backup archive.
  2. Review the archive details and confirm that it is the backup you intend to restore.
  3. Select Restore now and let ARC finish the restore.

ARC prevents you from leaving the page while a restore is being previewed or applied. A cloud restore starts in the background, and ARC restarts itself when the restore is staged. A local restore is staged from the selected archive and may disconnect ARC briefly. Do not start a restore while a game session is running: backup and restore operations are blocked until live sessions have ended or been reset.

A restore changes the ARC system

Choose the archive carefully and make a current backup before restoring. Confirm the restore only after reviewing the preview details. If ARC reports that the restore is still running, let the operation complete before closing the page or restarting the computer.
